The oldest recorded date of using cannabis can be traced all the way back to 2900 BC was when it was first brewed into a tea in China.
Over time, this plant has continued to pop up throughout history, but it wasn’t until 1940 when CBD (cannabidiol) was first isolated from the THC in marijuana, allowing for some of the benefits without the “high”.
Throughout recent decades, scientists and medical researchers have continued to discover ways that CBD can be helpful in all sorts of products to influence mental health, physical health, chronic pain and more.
National CBD Day was founded in 2018 when it was started by the brand cbdMD with the hopes of raising awareness and knowledge about CBD, its uses and more.
The inaugural day included events and advertisements to encourage individuals and groups to get more involved with CBD. That same year, a bipartisan group of legislators was able to make it possible for cannabidiol to become legalized, which feels like another great reason for people to celebrate.
