National Burnt Ends Day
September 1, 2025-September 1, 2025 -
USA, USA
National Burnt Ends Day started in 2021. Zarda Bar-B-Q and the American Royal Association teamed up to make it official.
They wanted to shine a spotlight on burnt ends, a dish that means a lot to Kansas City. These flavorful pieces come from the point of smoked brisket and are known for their crispy edges and bold taste.
The idea for the day grew from a deep love for barbecue and local pride. Kansas City has long been known for its barbecue traditions, and burnt ends are a big part of that story.
Zarda Bar-B-Q, a well-loved restaurant in the area, helped lead the charge. With support from the American Royal, an organization that promotes barbecue, the day gained recognition.
In 2021, the National Day Calendar made it official. Now, every year, fans celebrate this smoky delight. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a shared experience.
