Bullying No Way Week
August 11, 2025-August 15, 2025 -
Australia, Australia
Originally called the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence, Australia’s major anti-bullying event, began in 2011. Created by the “Bullying. No Way!” initiative, the day encourages schools to take unified action against bullying.
In 2024, the event was changed from just a day to a week, lasting from Monday to Friday. The name of the event was changed to Bullying No Way Week, or Bullying No Way: National Week of Action.
The program, supported by all Australian education authorities, gives schools the tools to address bullying through awareness and community collaboration.
Held each year, the day has grown to include thousands of schools. In 2022 alone, over 6,000 schools participated. Themes like “Growing Connections” and “Take Action Together” emphasize community support and the value of healthy relationships to prevent bullying.
The focus remains on equipping young people to recognize, prevent, and respond to bullying while fostering a culture of respect and empathy.
Today, the event plays a key role in helping schools create safer, more inclusive spaces for all students. This evolving effort has transformed the day into an essential annual tradition in Australian education.
This day doesn’t just aim to educate; it empowers students to stand up and build safer communities. Schools, teachers, and families work closely to create a culture of empathy and support, encouraging students to act as allies for one another.
